Description: Fifth Avenue brand name for Dorset compacts is likely to date from early 1950s. In 1951 Dorset and Rex were joined. The Dorset-Rex Fifth Avenue brand became known for mixed metal compacts which are now highly collectible. This is early 1950’s,and belonged to my grandmother. Note the enamel is on both sides. Slight discoloration on powder puff, nick in mirror, and two tiny dots on front & back. It was never used, been in storage for over 60 years.
