Description: These geisha sandals were acquired by my parents in the early 1960s during a trip to Japan. They are made of wood. The design motif is a branch with carved petal on the sandal itself. The thongs appear to be either leather or polyurethane. I cannot tell. The thong design is a pattern of repeating beige petal flowers with black stems on a dark thong, The heel is dark brown wood and measures The heels on both sandals shoe wear and scrape marks. The soles are intact but gently worn. The top of the shoe is in good condition (see photos) These sandals were stored in a closet in a smoke/moth free home. My guess is that I wore them as a little girl to a Japanese theme costume party. Measurements: 9 in long x 3.5 in. width. Back heel is 1 3/4 in. These would be a fun decor at a Japanese theme restaurant or party.
