Vintage 1950 Sawyer Bakelite 3D Viewmaster +18 reels-Kodachrome

Description: Here is a vintage old 1950 Sawyer Viewmaster similar to one I received as a gift when I was only 13 years old. Living on a farm and never having traveled more than 120 miles from home (until college) made me curious about the rest of the world. So, when someone drew my name at Christmas time, and gave me a Sawyer black bakelite viewer, I was finally able to see some of the world and in Kodacolor and 3 dimensions! I was able to see big cities, National Parks, famous dams and many other things. Like myself the original owner took good care of this viewer, and the reels, which all have their original sleeves. The bottom of the original box is also included. The Viewer functions just like new and like all of these viewers, when you push the knob down to view a slide let it spring back up so the next slide is aligned. There are two notches at the top of each reel, shown in one photo, which indicates where you should start each reel. You are fortunate to have 18 reels included in this package and they are all in great shape except one which somehow got marred on one slide over the years. I show a close up of the damaged reel (Grand Canyon) in one of my photos. I does show up in one slide, and it is noticeable. I looked at each of the reels so I know they all function and it brought back great memories. Back in the 1980's people were throwing these things away and were putting them out for sale at garage sales and estate sales. So being a collector/accumulator of almost everything I started to buy them and now find people buying them for gifts and maybe even collecting them or maybe want their children or grandchildren to experience the thrill of 3D. All of these were built to last as like this one. I find most reels shown on eBay are $2-$3- to $5 or more so the buyer of this will be getting a real value with 18 reels. Reels included: Yellowstone Natl Park(2), Columbia River, Jasper Natl Park, Cave of the Winds, North & South cheyenne Canyon, Palm Springs, Mount Hood, Bryce Canyon, Rocky Mt Natl Park, Grand Canyon Natl Park, Navajo Indians, Hoover( Boulder) dam (3) all different, Busch Gardens, Skyline Caverns Virginia, and finally the South Rim of the Grand Canyon with the one marred slide. Yes, 18 Slides are included. USPS Ground Advantage will be used and Will be somewhat expensive. I just turned 87 years old and need to start unloading stuff that has been on my shelves and drawers.
