Description: Vintage 1949 HORNBY O Gauge No.101 Tank Loco 0-4-0 LMS 2270 Clockwork Meccano Description:Rare post-war Hornby O gauge steam tank locomotive 0-4-0 No.101 “LMS” locomotive number 2270, clockwork operated. This loco is made of maroon and black painted tin with the company initials “LMS” printed in gold on both sides. Back is printed in black: “Hornby/ Made in England/ by Meccano Ltd.” (see picture #4.) Original key is missing. Sold AS IS. Made in England by Meccano Ltd., 1949. Dimensions:Loco: 6-½ inches (16.5 cm) Long. Condition:Mechanism is working smoothly but wheels don’t move just because one gear is worn (see picture #10.) Original wind key is missing (I’ve tested it with other key.) Right front wheel is missing (see picture #6, #8 and #9.) Tiny humidity spots only seen when direct light is applied; paint is chipped here and there (mostly on steam dome) with minor markings, scratches and light dents (see pictures with zoom.) Somewhat worn front and rear buffers. Light rust stains on levers, hinged side rods and bottom mechanism. One missing lever knob (see pictures #4 to #7.) Otherwise, fine overall condition.
