Description: Vintage 1945 Quebec Pottery Nautical Mugs by Quebec artist, sculptor and ceramicist Marcel Choquette These three mugs are part of a set of 6 nautical mugs that feature different nautical items as handles. (See photos - these are a life buoy, sailor and a sailboat) The markings on the bottom are hard to read but they should say (as I discovered from researching these) "La Faiencerie d'Art Choquette" (I can make out Choquette on one of the mugs) The sailboat mug has a small rough spot on the inside of the sail (handle) - I can't tell if it is a glaze defect or a small chip in the glaze.
