Description: Vintage Gillette Aristocrat Razor is Gold Plated brass, and comes with a gold tone blade holder. Razor is clean and its TTO feature operates smoothly. On the underside it is marked REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. MADE IN U.S.A. And the name GILLETTE is contained in a diamond. The inside is stamped PAT. NOS. IN PACKAGE. The fact that the word PACKAGE is spelled out implies that the razor dates to 1946-47. Razor and blade holder are contained in a 3 1/2" x 2" x 1 1/2" brown case that is covered in a leather-like material that Gillette described as simulated pigskin. The inside of the case is red velvet on the bottom and a white woven material on the top. The velvet is OK but the white material has areas of wear. Please see photos for evidence of condition.
