Description: Adorable hand painted, hand sculpted vintage piggy bank from The California Cleminson's. Based on style and design I believe this to be from the 1940s. This has no hole on the bottom for emptying and is intended to be broken to open, although the hole on the top is just big enough to probably shake some change out and use tweezers to get any bills out. Stamped on the bottom with the Cleminson's mark. Measures roughly 5" around with a 4" base. NOTE: This has glaze crazing ALL OVER but no chips, cracks or breaks. It was difficult to get a photo of the crazing, but I've a closeup of some of it (last photo). The part in the child's hair almost looks like a crack, however it is just a very strong part in his hair that was carefully painted and glazed. The slot is misshapen as made by the potter.
