Description: Vintage 1940s gown with colorful skirt and sleeves. MEASUREMENTS (approximate): Bust - 30" Waist - 22" Hips - full Length - 56 1/2" Lovely colorful shiny iridescent material on the skirt. Overall, fairly good condition but there are a few issues. There is a small hole (maybe cigarette burn?) on the skirt, but the material is so full that it is kind of hidden. A few split seams and loose stitches. Hook and eye closures on the side. The shoulder area has been taken up (perhaps she felt that the neckline was too revealing?) - I took a photo of the inside stitching; I believe all the material is still there to let it back down. See photos for condition. This would be a great dress to wear to a dance! A note on vintage clothing: I am not the original owner of these items, therefore I cannot guarantee their history. I am a non-smoker myself, but can't say the garment has never been around cigarette smoke or moth balls. While I would never list an item I find to have an offensive odor, I cannot ensure buyers (especially those very sensitive to odors) will feel the same as smell is subjective.
