Description: Description: This came out of a lot of tools and bits and pieces from the estate of a life-long railroadiana collector. It's an early Schrader tire pressure gauge. Based on what little I can find about it, it appears to be a professional model, the sort carried by a service station attendant in the era. The gauge is graduated from 10 to 160 psi. It's made of nickel-plated brass, it's got patent dates of 1920 and 1923. I'm finding more common later examples which have a 1932 patent on the, so this one was made somewhere between the two dates, 1923-1932. Size: 8.5" long, 11.75" fully extended. Mark: engraved on the side of the barrel "Schrader Service Tire Gauge manufactured by A Schrader's Son, Inc. Brooklyn NY USA. Condition: usual overall wear. The inner part of the gauge moves freely, but the gauge doesn't seem to actuate when used. It likely needs a cleaning and/or replacement seals. Shipping weight is 1.0 lbs. Shipping and insurance will be $7.50 to any street address in the Continental US. We are always happy to combine shipping at actual cost.
