Description: I’m very excited to offer this incredible, restored c.1910’s era ORNATE pan style chandelier featuring incredible wheel cut, iridescent glass shades! This fixture, from about 1910, is in fantastic vintage condition with a rich mottled patina that brass can only acquire through decades of oxidation. I have not polished the metal as to preserve the time worn color, but it did get a thorough cleaning. There are some minor surface irregularities, but this can be expected from any fixtures from this era. Of particular interest is the unusual stylized Sheffield molded pattern to the main body and canopy of this fixture. Even the lower finial is molded as such - cool! The rich brown patina suits the design nicely. A fixture like this is special, as it is representative of the kind of light that a modest working class family would have hung in their house, because even in an era of excess, not everyone lived in opulent, lavish mansions. Lights like these are often tossed in renovations and are not easy to come by in good condition anymore. The sockets are original and function well, and the wiring is new - cloth covered like the original would have been. The wheel cut shades, which feature delicate stars and rays are quite lovely. They light very well and suit the fixture nicely. They have a subtle iridescence, and show very well lit or unlit. One shade has a small chip to its bottom rim. This all but disappears when lit. The scale of this light makes it ideal for a small to medium sized room, measuring at about 13 inches across, measured from shade-to-shade, and 25 inches long. I can adjust the length a bit, should it be desired to make it shorter or longer. Just let me know! I picture this in a powder room, a bedroom, over a stairhall landing/common space, or perhaps in a larger closet. Pan lights were wildly popular in the early 20th century, and are very versatile light fixtures that work in just about any space. The sale includes all the necessary mounting hardware, light bulbs are not included. Shipped UPS Ground. Please feel free to message me with any questions you may have before making a purchase. Feedback on eBay is important! I go to great lengths to ensure that each of my customers has a positive experience purchasing one of my lights, and I love seeing and hearing from them after they’ve installed their new-to-them pieces. I love to see my lights in their new forever homes - feel free to send “after” photos!
