Description: The Urnes brooch gets its name from the style of carvings found in an old stave church in Urnes, Norway. Kopi means copy, indicating that the design of the brooch derived from those carvings. Urnes brooches were all the rage in Viking times. This bronze brooch is clearly stamped S E, for Sigmund Espeland, and was made in Norway. It is beautifully detailed (check out the clasp!) and is in excellent used condition. There is the patina you would expect from a vintage piece of bronze jewelry, but otherwise few signs of wear. Approximately 2 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches high. The pin is sharp and straight, and closes securely. Please look at the photos carefully. I want you to be happy with your purchase. Thanks for looking. 240807
