Description: An original, black and white, PHOTO of RVNAF (Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces) General Nguyen Van Thieu, who later was President of South Vietnam from 1967-1975. Per wikipedia: General Thieu became head of a military junta in 1965 and then President after winning an election in 1967. He established rule over South Vietnam until he resigned, left the nation, and relocated to Taipei, Taiwan, a few days before the fall of Saigon.I believe also in photo is Madame Van Thieu (Nguyen Thi Mai Anh), who served as First Lady of South Vietnam (her head is turned). Also in the photo: General Cao Van Vien has his arms crossed on the left of center. I believe this photo is circa 1965.Size: about 5" x 7" including white border.Photo is stamped on the back restricting publication - see photo above. Photo was the property of then Brig. General John F. Freund. Some information about General Thieu, Madame Thieu, General Vien, and General Freund is available on wikipedia.Condition is used. Slight curling to photo. Slight wear to edges and corners. Small crease in upper right corner. See photos above.
