This cookbook has thumb tabs for each chapter. There are even a few pages for What To Do With Extra Egg Yolks and What To Do With Extra Egg Whites! I could have used this so many times! There is an additional section in the back of the book titled Wartime Cookery with hints and recipes for more economical cooking. The recipes are fun to look through and contain lots of great recipes like Southern Pastry, Calf's Liver in Casserole, Old Virginia Catsup, Dixie Relish, Rhubarb Marmalade, Toffee Chiffon Pie, English Plum Pudding, Sponge Drop Cookies, Rinktum Ditty, Beef Goulash, and more. There is a chapter for table setting and service, food for invalids, foreign words and phrases, the friends who honor us, wine seasons fine foods, freezing, and more. This book is in excellent condition--I'm not sure if it was ever used! The dust jacket does have some overall wear including rubbing and heavy edge wear. The hard covers are nice and bright with only very minor wear. The pages are beautiful with no stains, tears or writing except for the previous owner's name and address written on 3 separate pages.
