Description: Fine Antique Victorian Mahogany Adjustable Queen Anne Fire Screen with Fine Needlepoint WorkCa1880-1910 Queen Anne Style Turned Mahogany Stand with three feet with slipper feet. Beautiful antique needle point screen framed in mahogany, with all over stylized foliage on a black ground, and a central panel with two (mythical?) birds with flowers and leaves on a light blue ground. The back of needlepoint panel is covered in silk. A fine example from the early Colonial Revival Movement. The Needlepoint screen can be moved up and down on mahogany pole with a brass sleeve with dial that is turned to loosen or tighten fitting, thus allowing the screen to move up or down the pole.
