Description: Victorian Antique Sterling Silver and Scottish Agate Mourning Bracelet with Heart Padlock and Woven Hair 1880s This is a fabulous sterling silver and mixed Scottish agate link bracelet from the Victorian era, circa the late 1880s. This bracelet features uniquely cut banded Scottish agate links that are curved and beveled with unmatched precision, as well as barrel shaped links that display vivid arrays of colors and stripes. The silver hardware is chased and engraved with elegant scrolling filigree engraving. The bracelet is in spectacular condition, considering its age. All of the hardware is intact and none of the stones appear to be cracked, crazed, chipped or heavily scratched. The backside of one of the links is slightly abraded (see photo), however this does not affect the integrity of the stone and cannot be seen when worn. The padlock hinges and latches with ease. The padlock contains a lock of braided hair within a glass compartment, completely untouched. The padlock is fixed with a piece of banded agate on the front as well.
