Description: Victor Moscoso was one of the “Big Five” psychedelic poster artists and the first to create his own series of posters. Neon Rose was created in 1966. There are a total of 26 posters in the series, utilizing vibrant colors in unique, eye striking combinations. Featured here is one of his classics, small quantities of which were recently unearthed from a significant poster collection:· NR–15: “Clean In”: Spring 1967 saw increased police presence in the Haight Ashbury Neighborhood. The provocation cited was dirty garbage pails and street trash. The community organized a “Spring Mobilization Clean In” designed to address the issue and clean up the neighborhood. This poster was created to promote the event. Eric King identifies this version of the poster as NR-15-OP-1. The posters were originally purchased from Psychedelic Solutions, NYC and have remained wrapped in their original packaging and stored flat for 50 years.
