Description: This is an original lithograph entitled "Il Re galantuomo" being a caricature of Victor Emanuel I, by Coide (pseudonym for James Jacques Tissot) published in Vanity Fair magazine on January 29, 1870. The sheet is 13-3/4 by 9 inches. In these early lithographs Tissot was known to have personally worked the lithographic stones. The lithograph is lightly worn and the paper is toned; there is a rough edge where the print was removed from the magazine; otherwise the condition is good.
