Very Rare Old Paris Hand Painted Cup & Saucer Pale Green Lots of Gilding

Description: Up for offer is a unique signed M.B.A. Old Paris totally hand painted cup and saucer, probably done in the early 1800’s set on a pale green base colour, the inside of the bowl is left in white with just a wide hand painted gold border and with a gold hoop handle. There are three hand painted panels, the one on the cup is titled “Dining Room Window” it depicts a woman sitting on the window sil of a wonderful Georgian manner with black shutters holding a baby, under the window outside are two children sitting on the ground, there is also an elderly man dressed in black holding something. The border around the picture is very heavily gilded, all the dots are individually hand done, there are coppery red highlights at the ends of the scrolls. The gilding shows signs that they are hand painted and some burnished areas, the signature is incorporated in the scrolls. It is truly a wonderful image and that is just the cup, now the saucer, it is titled “Cricket and The Small Fry” I do not think it is decorated by the same hand, it’s not signed and the image and gilding is not quite as good as the cup which is signed, but it is still lovely. The main image depicts a very well painted man holding a black horse that is hitched to a 2 wheel cart that has 3 men in it, the uniforms that the men are wearing are blue coats and white coats with black boots and looks like tri corner hats, the gilded border around this image is very nice with the same hand painting and coppery red gold accents on the ends of the scrolls. The third image showed a fenced area in front of a lake with ducks or geese swimming in it and a nice meadow scene behind. There is a very nice gilded border around this image, hand painted with coppery red accents again all set on a nice pale green base colour, all of this is painted on almost an egg shell thin porcelain. The cup and saucer are in very good condition and as you can see the hand painting is in great condition also. There are no chips cracks or repairs, the cup is 4 3/8” including the handle and the saucer is 5 9/16” in diameter.
