Description: 1880s CDV photograph of a Chinese child holding prayer beads, I believe.. possibly a child monk? He is identified on the back. Photographed in Canton, China by the former San Francisco portrait painter and photographer Lai Yong. Young came to the US in the 1840s and had a very successful career in SF until going back to China around 1880, 1881 and opening a studio. This is a very scarce example from that studio. VG or better antique condition and measures approximately 4" x 2.5".
