Very Good 1940s Stansi Scientific Steam Demonstration Ref 3540

Description: LIVING ESTATE SALE (Details at the end of description) MS/AI For your consideration is a Stansi 3540 Live Steam Demonstration Device made in the USA in the 1940s.I am not certain about the date of production but it was produced between the 1930s and the 1950s, so it is most certainly over 70 years old. This teaching device was manufactured in Illinois and was used in the classroom to demonstrate the movement of steam to activate a steam engine, forward and reverse.This is made of cast iron and is quite heavy (4 lb). It has the original paint that is still in good condition for its age. There are some spots with light surface rust (photos), particularly at the bottom. From the Stansi catalog :"A complete model of the locomotive engine showing a section through the steam chest with the piston and valve connected to their proper parts. Excellent illustration of link motion; use of reversing gear and action of eccentric clearly shown."
