Description: Beautiful Washington State souvenir plate made by Vernon Kilns from Vernon CA. These plates were mfg. using transferware process in placing scenes from local tourist areas onto a china plate. The art was produced by several well-known artists produced during the 30's, 40's and 50's such as Orpha Klinker, Don Blanding and Rockwell Kent. This plate has pictures of various scenes around the state, including the State Capital in Olympia, Coulee Dam and Puget Sound/Olympic mountains. Signed by the designer, Orpha Klinker. It has a beautiful rim border of painted Rhododendron flowers. Plate measures 10.25" and is a deep maroon. No cracks, chips or crazing. A beautiful piece of mid-century art!
