The plastic is not discolored.There are some spots on the magnifying side of the mirror -- I tried to wipe them off and didn't have any luck.There is some staining around the storage compartment -- it might be glue residue from manufacturing. It looks like it was a Christmas present to someone as there are remnants of wrapping paper on the bottom.
