Description: This is a rare July 16th, 1962 playbill from the Summer Stock engagement of the MEREDITH WILLSON musical comedy hit "THE MUSIC MAN" at the Carousel Theatre in Framingham, Massachusetts. (The Original Broadway production opened December 19th, 1957 at the Majestic Theatre in New York City and ran for 1375 performances.) ..... The musical starred VAN JOHNSON (shown in the cover photo) who had just returned from London after starring as "Harold Hill" in the Original West End production of "The Music Man" and featured LISA DRAKE, T. J. HALLIGAN, LUCILLE BENSON, ELIZABETH KERR, KEN MALONE, THE BILMACS, BART LARSEN, HELEN CURTIS, FAY SAPPINGTON, TOM NOEL, NANCY ROBSON, MARY HILL, VALERIE LEE and IGGIE WOLFINGTON ..... Side Note: "THE MUSIC MAN" received the 1958 Tony Award for "Best Musical" beating out Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim's "West Side Story" .....
