Description: For sale is a vinyl record titled Rachmaninoff's Greatest Hits, featuring Van Cliburn on piano and Fritz Reiner conducting The Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Eugene Ormany conducting conducting the Philadelphia Orchestra, originally released in 1972 by RCA Red Seal Records. This version has red labels on rigid, non-flexible vinyl, "RCA" on its side to the left of the center hole and "Red Seal" to the right of the center hole, without RCA's "Nipper" their trademark dog, commonly called a "No Dog" pressing. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is etched "I", followed by the matrix numbers 7-S/2-S, indicating that earlier stampers were used to make this record before it was pressed at RCA's pressing plant located in Indianapolis, Indiana. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine, then put into a MFSL archival inner sleeve, then into a record storage box where it was kept under optimum conditions for both temperature and humidity. There is no original inner sleeve. The cover is graded as Very Good because of a two inch seam split on the bottm left hand seam, ring wear and some very minor corner blunts. The spine has damage to the corners, resulting in tears and paper loss. One of the corners is fraying. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint, with surfaces that are shiny and bright, in a like-new condition, without any sleeve marks, surface scratches, scuffs or spindle marks on the labels. I'm play grading this record as Near Mint. It plays all the ay through without surface noise, pops, skips or lock-ups. This would be an excellent addition to anyone's collection. I have more Classical records, as well as albums of all different genres, listed in my Ebay store. Please take a look, They're predominately Near Mint. Thank you for looking at my listing. I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
