Description: Offered here is a beautiful and impressive challenge coin that commemorates the A-7 era for the Blue Diamonds of VA-146. The squadron flew the A-7 Corsair II from 1968 until 1990, and their home port was NAS Lemoore. The squadron has the distinction of being the very-first squadron to fly combat missions in the A-7E. The coin is 2" wide, and 3mm thick, cast in gold-tone metal with great colors and texture. One side features the squadron's gold shock wave and four diamonds, and the shock wave extends beyond the border of the coin. The other side of this coin is emblazoned with a silhouette of an A-7 above Naval Aviator's wings, along with the (in)famous motto, No Slack in Light Attack! The coin would make a wonderful gift for anyone who served with VA-146, or would make a great addition to any collection.
