👀 V RARE C1870 Silver Plated STOURBRIDGE CUT GLASS TRIPLE DECANTER TANTALUS SET

Description: This listing is for a V. RARE, MAGNIFICENT, 19th Century Victorian Silver Plated Fitted TRIPLE, footed Decanter Tantalus set with silver plated bespoke rapousse Stand, DATING TO C1870. This listing is for a really special find………..a blast from the past from a bygone era….real Downton Abbeyesque set. A triple tantalus with three original deep cut glass decanters……featuring very elongated thumbprint cuts, diamond cutting above into facet cut towards neck and thousand eye diamond cut neck. This is placed into a welled globular shaped holder where the foot of the decanter fits precisely……in a bespoke fitted silver plated ROCOCO style rapousse carrying stand. The shape of the decanters fit perfectly Into the purpose built recesses. The decanters themselves are an amazing find. Three deep cut footed decanters each with their matching hand blown and cut stoppers. I believe they date to the mid to late C1860-80’S There is no mark on the glass as to the maker or on the silver plated stand. The glass was most likely cut in the STOURBIDGE area by possibly one of the amazing glass factories, Richardson, Stevens and Williams or maybe Webb. The stand is a magnificent foil for the glassware. A very elegant and complementary design. (The last photo is of a similar tantalus for comparison.) Great for that special present, either for a special occasion or to keep for your own pleasure. MEASUREMENTS: Decanters: Height 12 1/2” x 4” across widest point Tantalus stand: Height 16” x 9” across two holders. CONDITION: Excellent condition with two smallish chips to the base edge of one decanter…please see photo, I have inspected all three decanters and can find only one other sliver chip on the under edge of one decanter…please see photo. The glass is clean inside, with little sign of use. All stoppers are in excellent condition with no damage. (Remarkably)!! The carrying stand is also in excellent condition with no dings or dents…silver plating is in very good condition commensurate with its age. The handle plating looks a bit worn. Could do with a little more cleaning…!! If you need more photos or information please message me...
