These glasses made in the 80’s were mostly sold in Jewery stores and High end optical boutiques where they were sold for $225 Retail. In the 80’s this is a huge amount. They were featured in all the top fashion magazines like LeMonde Couture and many other European high fashion magazines. The lenses used were the best prescription quality lenses that Germany produced at the time. We all know German optical goods are second to none. These lenses although not very dark provide 100% protection on both UV and IR harmful rays of the sun . it’s truly amazing how clear and sharp these lensesa are in comparison to what’s available now from other high end sunglasses. The filtration is truly amazing. These glasses were fashioned to be jewelry for the eyes. We bought them at auction from a high end jewelry store in Hollywood CA. That had gone out of business.
