The scrapbook of his adventures was filled with over 100 images of his time aboard and port visits. These are all rare, first generation images. Many are likely one of a kind. Type & Size: A 4x3 original photograph.Condition: Good vintage condition. Please see photos. This photograph captures a sailor on deck, likely aboard the USS Texas, during the early 1930s. The seaman is posed while handling a pole, with a large flagpole partly visible in the background. The image is sepia-toned and appears to depict a moment of daily life during the sailor’s service. The USS Texas served as a battleship and participated in notable activities while stationed in various ports. During the late 1920s and early 1930s, the ship was involved in naval exercises and training, reflecting the military's buildup in the years leading up to World War II. The camaraderie and work aboard such vessels were essential to naval operations at that time. On the back of the photograph is a handwritten note that simply reads "Judge," along with "E138" printed near the bottom. This suggests that the photograph may have been cataloged for archiving or was being used for a specific reference, possibly unique to a collection or scrapbook.
