Description: For sale here is a hard to find US WW1 Army Officer's Inflatable Bladder Comfort Cushion Pillow. This is the first one of these that i have come across. Overall, the rubber is fairly supple, but as you can see, it has stiffened some where it was folded. The valve seems to work fine, and is maker marked by A Schrader's Son Inc. Brooklyn NY and is patented 1900. Unfortunately, the bladder did not hold air. I couldn't ever seem to find where it was leaking from, but it really didn't hold air. The dark khaki canvas covering shows some discoloration and light staining. The front of the pillow has a fancy maker's mark that is too faint to be fully legible, and it is marked with the letter A. The back is named to Alvin Pursell. I have not researched this name.
