Description: This set of seven Trans-Mississippi stamps, with denominations 1, 2, 4, 5, 8, 10 and 50 cents, is a great addition to any stamp collection. This is a short set as $1 and $2 stamps exist for the set. The stamps were issued between 1891 and 1900 in the United States and feature a multi-color set design with original gum quality. Although the stamps are ungraded and uncertified, they are conservatively unused for postage. The set includes popular stamps recounting the early westward expansion of the United States and is perfect for those interested in the history of the region. The condition of the stamps is unused with original gum. Some of the stamps have slight perturbations to the gum but this is minor to almost nonexistent. Scott #286 and #291 have marks where a hinge or mount was present. #291 has some tiny perturbations near the hinge mark. The photographs show the condition of the stamps in detail as well as centering and perforations. There are no significant faults.
