Description: The 50 dirham banknote is the first note to be issued with tactile horizontal bars on the obverse side and the coat of arms printed in optically variable ink. These features were included so the visually impaired can distinguish and read the banknotes. The purple note is 151 mm long and 64 mm wide. Its obverse side also shows two angles of an oryx head: a side profile printed on the right, and a front profile printed on a silver foil stamp. The reverse side features the Fort Jahili in Al Ain and a Saker falcon, the national bird of UAE. The note has a 3-mm side color-shifting windowed security thread with demetalized UAE 50, a watermark of a Saker falcon head and electrotyped 50 and coffee pot.
