Description: This is an original hand forged spiked tomahawk made by the Underhill Edge Tool Co. in NH in the mid 1800s. Kept on board sailing ships as boarding weapons and used to cut away burning rigging during naval battles. Also used in ship building. The famous Lizzie Borden axe murders trial list an Underhill axe as the murder weapon. Hammer forged head is 8 1/4" long. Please study the photos carefully for visible condition.
