Description: For sale here is a knit cotton polo shirt from Undercover. This one comes from the spring-summer 2009 collection. Undercover is perhaps best known for their high quality designs, combined with a very strong graphic sensibility and punk rock ethos The material here is a knit cotton in black. Collar is pretty small and sharp on this one, where it actually has a flat portion rather than a point at the ends. It is more of a geometric collar I suppose. Everything is black here, including the buttons, pocket and embroidered “S” logo on the chest. The logo is actually a reference to Patti Smith, who reportedly has a tattoo of the same logo. Aside from that, there is a sort of neo-futuristic look to this polo, especially with the horizontal seam across the chest and back. These days Undercover has relaxed their tailoring and silhouettes quite a bit, but these earlier pieces are razor sharp. If you like a more tailored look this is where you would want to go. These shirts retailed at around $200 in Japan. They’re now long gone as well, but get it here at a fraction of the retail. Size is labeled a 3 and fits like a slim medium. There is some stretch to the fabric but unstretched I measure the chest at 19”, shoulders at 16” and length at 26” from the base of the neck. The shirt comes in lightly used, generally good shape. There is some minor wear throughout, including a bit of wear on the collar, but no holes, tears or stains. Made in Japan. Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $24.
