This set was published in America by Harper & Brothers and this volume is part of that series. They are all in dark blue cloth with Hardy's initials on the front cover inside a gilt decoration. Each volume has a frontispiece by H. Macbeth-Raeburn and a map of Wessex in the back. Harper reprinted this series in the early 20th century. From that series, this listing is ONLY ONE BOOK called "Under the Greenwood Tree: A Rural Painting of the Dutch School". x, 273 pp. CONDITION: Mild external wear with lightly bumped corners and cocked spine. Hinges are strong and binding is sound. Leaves lightly toned yet are unmarked except for previous owner's name written in pencil on the title page, dated 1899. A nice, solid copy.
