They have three daughters: Clare, Rebecca and Katy.Since his retirement, David has spent some of his time working for the RAFT Charity in Rossendale, Lancashire, where he has lived for 36 years, and writing short stories. His main interests are listening to music (especially opera) and going to the theatre.
