Description: The ULTRA RARE Apple iPod 1st Generation M8541 White 5GB Original Box with early build serial # is a media player with a storage capacity of 5GB. It has a headphone jack and supports playable media formats such as MP3, AAC, AIFF, Audible, and WAV. I purchased this when I worked at Apple. The original iPod was intoroduced in October 2001. The first batch of the production run was reserved for the rollout to retail distributors. Once that was fulfilled employees could purchase them. This unit was made the 50th week of 2001 so it is a very early build. This iPod comes in the original box and has the matching serial numbers. It also comes with the original charge cube and apple firewire cable. Warranty card, getting started manual and other paperwork is included in the folder. It has the earphone covers stll sealed in factory packaging but I no longer have the earphones. All functions work properly and the unit holds a charge as it came with a lithium polymer battery which was very advanced for its time. The iPod and box is in very good condition but not perfect.
