Of all of the shells I used to find shell collecting from shore, the leviteni cone was by far one of the more exciting to find, not only because the shell could sting you, but also because it was such a beautiful shell fresh out of the water! Perhaps it's the tent markiings, I don't know, but I always loved finding one. And we used to keep a couple of live ones in our aquarium, simply because they were by far the best way to clean other shells, especially small cowries. And since cleaning cowries by other methods was slow and potentially damaging to the shell, well, nothing beat a pennaceous cone for convenience and safety. . Anyhow, as the video shows, this dark beauty with a smooth repair on its body, (normal for this species) is, as the video shows, an ultra fantastic specimen that will look terrific sitting on your shelf!The ultra-perfect shell for a first-class collection.
