Created in May 2014 as a territorial defense battalion called "Podillia" from residents of the Chernivtsi region, after the combined military reformation in the fall of 2014, it became a motorized infantry battalion.The battalion became part of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade, and later the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade.
