Our Magna-Tusk blanks will produce an aged Ivory grip unlike any other material made today. Our aged grips feature an authentic aged patina, just like the originals, with a process incorporating concentrated U.V. light (the essential aging property in natural sunlight), along with a developer/control agent that is put on the grips to carefully control U.V. absorption, in a sealed, high-oxygen environment to accelerate the natural aging process. Through this aging process, these grips become beautifully mottled, variegated, and weathered just like old, antique Ivory, and incorporate other authentic details found on original old Ivory as seen on many of the revolvers which belonged to gunfighters and lawmen of the Old West. As with real aged Ivory, Magna-Tusk develops a variegated patina due to its authentic grain structure, and natural aging produces an authentic appearance and genuine patina which extends into and below the surface.
