Description: Two typewritten translations of Gabriela Mistral's poems, Midnight and Drops of Gall. These translations were made by David Garrison, a renowned scholar and translator of several Spanish poets. His versions were published in "A Book of Women Poets from Antiquity to Now", Schocken Books, 1980. Garrison's translations are quite different from Doris Dana's translations who had lived with Mistral for several years before her death. Garrison's "Drops of Gall" has notations in pencil. Both translations were made after Mistral's death in 1957.
