Description: Two Vintage Altec Lansing Voice of the Theater A7 Speakers (pick up, Atlanta). **New Pictures Added** My father was in the film production, sound, and light business. When he passed away, I inherited his pride and joy...his personal Altec A7"Voice of the Theatre" speakers. Although they are of sentimental value, I'm willing to now let them go. These beasts pump out volume enough to drown and mute most other speaker systems. The bass emerges from 15-inch low frequency transducers (subwoofers), while the mids and highs emanate from horns. The pictures with this ad show custom made very heavy sturdy wood cabinetry, which is tastefully constructed around the speakers. This cabinetry is aesthetically pleasing to most home environments (home theatres, living rooms, rec rooms, etc.). Each speaker cabinet is 48" tall, 32" wide, and 25" deep, and weigh about 100 pounds each. I'm not sure of the exact manufacture date of the speakers, but I remember my father telling me they were early 1960s. I included a photo of an ad in 1963 from Altec describing the speakers. These speakers are all original: The low frequency transducers (sub woofers) are original vintage factory Model 803B (16 ohms), while the high frequency horns have original vintage factory 804A drivers (16 ohms). Crossover is original vintage factory Model N-800-D (16 ohms). Prices for a pair of these type speakers vary widely on various websites, from the low end at $2,000 to high end at over $10,000. Shipping not possible due to size and weight, only local pickup is available in Alpharetta, GA (Atlanta area). Preferred payment is cash on pickup, though PayPal or credit card or whatever eBay allows is fine. Thanks.
