Description: Two etchings by Luigi Lucioni. They are entitled Pattern of Trees (with the barn in the back) and Tree Tapestry. For better or worse, they are in their original frames from about the 1940's. Pasted on the back of the frames is the following blurb from the Associated American Artists, 711 Fifth Avenue, New York 22 N.Y. : " Luigi Lucioni was aptly named "painter laureate" of Vermont by LIFE MAGAZINE for his famed works depicting that state. Born in 1900 in Italy, Lucioni came to the United Staes while very young and since has divided his time between New York and Vermont. His paintings of Vermont and his portraits have taken the most important prizes in contemporary American art. At the Carnegie International Exhibition he received their Popular Prize, followed by two successive Popular Prizes at the Corcoran Gallery of Art. His works are now owned in countless museums, including Metropolitan, Whitney, Seattle ... I am looking for $600 for the pair.
