Description: Here are Mushroom Spawn Seeds for Tuber Magnatum Italian Truffle, also known as Tartufo Bianco! Tuber magnatum, commonly referred to as the white truffle or trifola d'Alba Madonna ("Truffle of the White Madonna" in Italian), is a species of truffle found in southern Europe. These truffles grow symbiotically with oak, hazel, poplar, and beech trees, typically fruiting in the autumn. They can reach sizes of up to 12 cm in diameter and 500 g in weight, although they are often smaller. The flesh of these truffles is pale cream or brown with white marbling. Italian white truffles are highly prized and among the most valuable on the market. In 2001, Tuber magnatum truffles sold for between $1000–$2200 per pound ($2200–$4800 per kg); as of December 2009, they were being sold at $14,203.50 per kilogram. Stone oak seedlings (Quercus ilex), pedunculate oak (Quercus robur), and common hazelnut (Corylus avellana) are infected with the mycelium of black French truffle. The seedlings are then quarantined under sterile conditions for several weeks to ensure that the mycelium has taken root. The pedunculate oak, which is common in Ukraine, is successfully colonized by the black truffle mycelium. After inoculation, the seedlings are planted in a nursery. During the first months, the nursery must be kept under strict quarantine conditions, and staff must adhere strictly to personal hygiene. The establishment of mycorrhiza is completed over 12 months, until the seedlings reach a height of 20 cm. It is crucial to inoculate the mycelium onto seedlings rather than young oak plants to ensure a well-developed mycorrhiza on oak roots. In Australia, some farmers focus on inoculating seedlings rather than growing truffles. They germinate the inoculated seedlings in a nursery and sell them when they reach 30 cm in height. Several factors are crucial in selecting a suitable location for growing royal mushrooms: Soil pH should not be less than 7.5, with an optimal level of 7.9.The soil should be rich in humus and calcium, well-aerated, and free of stones. Deep mechanical processing of the soil is necessary before planting seedlings. There should be no other competing mushrooms in the soil.Weeds should not be allowed around young oaks during planting and the first two years.A relatively dry climate is preferable (this condition is more important for oaks than for truffles). The average summer temperature should be in the range of 16.5 - 22 °C.The terrain should not be too rugged, as this would complicate soil processing in the nursery.Oak seedlings inoculated with truffle mycelium are planted in the spring, when there is no threat of frost, in well-prepared and weed-free soil. General-purpose herbicides with glyphosate are not suitable, as even small residues in the soil can reduce the survival rate of the mycelium. Only herbicides with ammonium glufosinat, which quickly decomposes, should be used. Planting should follow a 5x4 m scheme to ensure no more than 500 trees per hectare. Under no circumstances should the soil be fertilized before planting young trees, as this can lead to the death of the truffle mycelium. During planting, it is crucial to protect the root system containing the mycorrhiza. In each planting hole, a small amount of water should be poured in, the sapling should be firmly covered with soil, and then plenty of water should be poured on top. Planting should be done at a depth of about 75 cm to protect the truffles from frost, pests, wind, and various sprays during tree care. Additionally, a layer of mulch (with a radius of 40 cm) should be placed near each tree. The preferred mulch is the top layer of forest soil containing fallen oak leaves. Young plants should be protected with plastic film. Truffles are ectomycorrhizal fungi, meaning that they form mycorrhiza on the surface of the root system. Therefore, a single tree needs an area of 20 m2 for the development of mycorrhiza. Alongside oaks, other trees can be grown whose mycorrhiza will stimulate the development of truffle mycorrhiza. Olive trees, citrus trees, sequoia, and flax can be used as companions for oak trees. It is crucial to avoid planting species like poplar, willow, chestnut, lime, spruce, fir, and pine too close to truffle oaks. Trees should be fed with a balanced NPK fertilizer, and a small amount of micronutrients such as iron, magnesium, copper, zinc, and boron should be added. Hazelnuts inoculated with truffle mycelium can also be grown using this method. The main pests of the royal mushroom are rabbits and pigs. They should not be allowed into the area where truffles are grown. Other potential pests include weevils (especially if field crops were previously grown in the area) and black cockroaches. Weed growth can be controlled with herbicides. The edible part of truffles is the fruiting bodies of mushrooms that contain spores. They are located at a depth of 20 cm underground and can weigh anywhere from 500 g to 1.2 kg. A mature black French truffle is round or slightly elongated, black-brown in color, and has a hard shell. Occasionally, fruit bodies may rot, rendering them unsuitable for market. Up to 15% of the crop can be located close to the soil surface. To prevent damage to truffles, sand should be spread over the soil surface if cracks appear. Flies are an indicator of truffles being close to the surface. Truffles can appear both in rows of trees and in between rows. Truffle hunting is typically done with the assistance of dogs. The digging of royal mushrooms is done exclusively by hand, using small blades. Many countries have specific Phytosanitary regulations, and some may impose restrictions on the import of plant goods, including seeds. Please be aware that import customs clearance is your responsibility and is beyond our control. These seeds are organically grown and free from GMO elements. They are 100% original and have been stored in optimal conditions.
