Description: Autographed Penny Chenery, William Mack, Ron Turcotte Hat. On June 19, 2012, the Maryland Racing Commission officially changed Secretariat’s winning time in the 1973 Preakness Stakes from 1:54 2/5 to 1:53 for the 1 3/16 miles distance – formally confirming that Secretariat had, as many believed, broken the existing Pimlico Race Course track record at that time. The correction gives Secretariat the lasting distinction of establishing new track records for all three Triple Crown races of that year — Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes — and the ruling resolves a controversy 39-years in the making… -https://www.secretariat.com/fan-club/1973-preakness-time/ All items are authentic as you can see me in the pictures... I was able to meet Penny a few times....she signed the hat at Pimlico on June 19, 2012. This auction is for the hat, which I wore to a few Preakness's. It was bought at White House Black Market in Lancaster, PA. I had it framed at a Michael's store in York, PA. It's set in a deep shadow box style. There is green matting to represent turf, and the blue to represent Penny's favorite color. The top it secured by magnets set in the framing so the top can come off to access the hat. You can re-frame etc. to your style. The sale of this item will help fund some great projects!
