Description: From the state of Connecticut three Pay-Table Office certificates that are all signed by committee members, and all of which are found with four jumbo borders. The recipients of these fiscal items are Colonel Samuel Canfield, Colonel Benjamin Richards, and Captain Charles Miel. Samuel Canfield was an officer during the Revolutionary War and subsequently served in the state legislature. He was also part of the group which went to Sharon and attempted to suppress Shay’s Rebellion. Benjamin Richards was one of the headquarter officers of the Second Brigade, 28th Regiment. The 28th Regiment was formed in January 1780. Charles Miel served under Colonel Samuel Canfield and his service included some of the most well-known events of Revolutionary War history; the Battle of Lexington, Battle of Bunker Hill, and during the winter of 1777-1778 Miel was encamped at Valley Forge. All three of these Pay-Table Office certificates show some modest edge tears and/or small internal splits. A riveting triumvirate of Revolutionary War history.
