Cassandre, pseudonym of Adolphe Jean-Marie Mouron (1901 - 1968) was a French commercial poster artist. He was born in Ukraine but moved to Paris where he studied at Ecole des Beaux-Arts. His works are memorable for their innovative graphic solutions and their frequent denotations to such painters as Max Ernst and Pablo Picasso. In 1936 his works were exhibited at MOMA, New York.
