Modern machine made marbles, like Vacor and Mega, usually do not have seams or crimp marks. Vintage marbles will usually have 1 seam (rod/stream ends or diaper fold) to 2 seams (rod/stream middles). Creases are improperly cooled imperfections that are typically rounded and smooth, but are not pontils. If a marble looks perfect, that’s a good indicator its modern machined.
