Description: About this item: This is a transformer kit used to light up the Western Electric Princess phone. It's designed for modular phones and comes with everything you need to just plug in and use. I use a more modern power source than the original Western Electric "wall wart" transformer. This one does the job perfectly and uses less energy. Included in the kit is the transformer, specially modified T-adapter, a 4-conductor line cord, new bulb (not pictured). and instructions. The modified T-adapter I use confines the transformer power to the telephone. In the old days the phone company would just put that voltage on the second set of wires in the house. In today's world, that can be a problem depending on what is using those wires. I modified this T-adapter to insure that the voltage from the transformer goes only to the telephone, and not into the house wiring. I've sold hundreds of these over the years, they're proven to be very reliable. If you need a kit for a hardwired Princess, contact me and we can arrange that. CAUTION, you will see others selling home brew kits using the T-adapter as I do. If they don't state in the listing that they have modified the T-adapter in the way I have, ask.
