Artists contract to complete 100 or 150 sketch cards (some artists decide to do more, some less) at a nominal price per card AND receive additional compensation for their creative efforts by getting to keep 6 of those sketch cards to sell either privately to interested collectors or to sell on platforms like Ebay. The sketch cards that each artist decided to keep as their RARE ARTIST RETURN SKETCH CARDS were and continue to be the very best, most colorful and most detailed of the 100 or 150 cards they created for Hobby Box insertion. Artist Return Sketch Cards command much higher prices than pack pulled sketch cards for exactly those reasons...they are the BEST of the lot.
