Description: This original 1985 issue is one of the most well-known and collectible editions of National Geographic because of the famous cover photo taken by Steve McCurry. It is in excellent condition with no stains, dirt, torn pages, or added writing. It has never been fully opened or read so the spine shows no creases or signs of use other than rubbing at the bottom (shelf wear) and a resulting tiny tear. The magazine has been flipped through, and the handling caused a faint curl (though not a crease) in the top center of the cover - this is evident under certain lighting conditions. There is a light crease in the lower front corner that is mainly on the top surface and hasn't left a deep impression. I have tried to clearly and accurately describe and show all blemishes in the final 8 photos, and all photos are considered as part of the description.
